    General description:
    Topical glucocorticosteroid + antibiotics (aminoglycoside + cyclic polypeptide) + alpha-adrenergic agonist.

    Special conditions:

    Drug interactions:
    Drug interactions are due to the phenylephrine content.
    Phenylephrine reduces the hypotensive effect of diuretics and antihypertensive drugs (including methyldopa, mecamylamine, guanadrel, guanethidine). If such a combination cannot be avoided, then a doctor's supervision is necessary.
    No clinically significant interactions of the drug with other drugs have been identified.

    Pharmacodynamics:
    Combined preparation for topical use in otolaryngology. It has the anti-inflammatory effect of dexamethasone on the nasal mucosa, antibacterial effect of the antibiotics neomycin and polymyxin B.
    Dexamethasone is well absorbed when applied topically, its absorption increases with inflammation of the mucous membrane. The combination of these antibiotics expands the spectrum of antibacterial action against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms that cause infectious and inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.

    Pharmacokinetics:
    Pharmacokinetic studies of the drug Polydex with phenylephrine have not been conducted due to low systemic absorption.

    Indications:
    Inflammatory and infectious diseases of the nasal cavity, pharynx, paranasal sinuses:
    - acute and chronic rhinitis;
    - acute and chronic rhinopharyngitis;
    - sinusitis.

    Contraindications:
    - suspicion of angle-closure glaucoma;
    - the simultaneous use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors;
    - viral diseases;
    - kidney disease accompanied by albuminuria, renal failure
    - pregnancy;
    - the period of breastfeeding;
    - children's age (up to 2, 5 years);
    - hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

    Overdose:
    Due to the low degree of absorption into the systemic circulation, overdose is unlikely.
